Part time Position, $16.25/ hour

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 4-8pm 

Saturday 8am-12pm. 

POSITION SUMMARY Membership: The Membership Representative delivers excellent service to all members, guests and program participants and maintains the cleanliness and organization of the welcome center. The priority of the Membership Representative is to assure that members are greeted with kindness and enthusiasm, both in person and over the telephone.

POSITION SUMMARY Interactive Fitness Zone Attendant/Y Play Attendant: IFZ and Y Play are a program that provides a fun and safe space for children to explore while parents utilize the fitness facility.  The Youth Program Assistant is responsible for the daily supervision of children and staff, providing a high-quality experience for children and parents in accordance with the YMCA values.

 

Qualifications

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions in both indoor and outdoor settings; exposure to heat, cold and moderate noise levels; and verbal, visual and auditory ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES MEMBERSHIP SALES REPRESENTATIVE:

  • Creates a welcoming environment for all by warmly greeting all members and guests.
  • Assists Membership Director to develop strategies to drive potential members and retain existing members through marketing initiatives including: social media, marketing, word of mouth, referrals, acquisition events etc.
  • Obtains sales leads via walk-ins, telephone inquiries, grassroots community outreach, membership marketing events
  • Conducts all phone and in-person prospective member interviews (during hours worked), and provide welcoming and thorough tours; Close all interviews/tours with an invitation to join the YMCA; Meet or exceed individual monthly sales goals.
  • Conducts interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members to achieve a conversion ratio of 70%.
  • Builds relationships with members through intentional connection with other members and Y staff. Connects members to fitness orientation, program, or a small community of peers.
  • Contributes to retention ratio of members at or above 65%.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES IFZ/Y Play: 

  1. Maintains sight or sound supervision of children and volunteers at all times.
  2. Direct oversight of daily operations in the Stay-n-Play environment, including staff and scheduling.
  3. Ensures developmentally appropriate adult-child interactions.
  4. Plans and delivers program activities which are age-appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
  5. Ensures proper sign-in and sign-out procedures for every child entering and exiting the Child Watch room.
  6. Completes hourly room count.
  7. Maintains a neat and orderly environment and ensures that program supplies are stocked.
  8. Assists with bathroom supervision within established guidelines and Child Abuse policy.
  9. Attends all staff meetings and trainings.
  10. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and Emergency Action Plan.
  11. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff.
  12. Provides support and empowerment, constructive, enriching and creative activities, development of social competencies and positive identity.
  13. Recognizes, encourages and supports the enhancement and development of the Y’s Six Pillars of Character.
