Financial Controller

The Controller/Director of Accounting must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Controller will report to the General Manager and will assist with the development of internal control policies, procedures and financial planning. The role requires at least 10 years of progressively increasing experience in accounting, and supervision and training of accounting professionals.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Pay: $121,805.00-$144,685.00 

Primary Functions

To provide timely and accurate financial information to company decision makers and ensure compliance of applicable agencies and federal and state laws. Controller will support the Accounting department by providing direction, training and oversight of accounting professionals. The Controller will also serve as the liaison to external auditors and CPAs and be responsible for ensuring a timely close of financials and issuance of financial reports to stakeholders.

 Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Monitor, review and compile data to prepare monthly and annual financial reports and statements
  •  Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems

Cash Management

Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management

  •  Coordinating activities of external CPAs and auditors
  • Oversee the cash management function of all entities
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts


  • Evaluating the effectiveness of ERP software and supporting database, as needed
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting professionals

Skills Preferred:

· Attention to detail – must have a clear sense of the company’s operations and be able to identify irregularities

· Advanced knowledge of accounting best practices, state and federal laws, standards and regulations

· Ability to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members

· Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft teams, database, or other system knowledge

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to produce and present findings.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Intermediate or advanced experience in Microsoft excel

Education and Experience:

· Minimum 10 years’ experience in the accounting field, with at least 5 years supervising accounting staff

· Bachelor’s degree in relative field required.

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license required

· Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.

· Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time without assistance.
