Overview: The Fiber Aerial Lineman is responsible for the installation of strand and lashing of fiber in the communications space of poles. The Aerial Lineman may assume a number of different responsibilities as described below in the execution of each new fiber project.
Reports to: Aerial Construction Foreman
Job Status: Non-Exempt
Responsibilities:
- Place strand and associated hardware on pole infrastructure.
- Lash or overlash fiber to new or existing strand.
- Trim trees in aerial communications space
- Serve as ground hand in aerial construction.
- Prepare a worksite to eliminate possible hazards.
- Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
- Check utilities and clearances.
- Safely and efficiently operate tools and equipment based on job requirements.
- Assist with job site clean-up.
- Must be willing to learn and assist with underground construction projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
