Airport Planner 

The Airport Planner will aid in developing and writing planning studies that assess and document impacts to the natural environment, cultural resources, and human environment.


Requirements

  • Assist in the preparation of Airport Master Plan, Airport Layout Plan and other planning studies.

  • Assist in public meetings to present Airport Master Plans, and coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration

  • Coordinate with various federal, state, and local agencies.

  • Read, interpret, and compose Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, NEPA documentation, and noise/land use studies.

  • Administer environmental field surveys for biological, archeological, cultural, wetland and other resources.

  • Evaluate potential environmental impacts associated with airport improvement projects receiving Federal and/or State financial assistance.

  • Perform other duties and departmental functions as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years’ experience in writing airport planning documents. Previous aviation planning or environmental internship

  • is highly desired.

  • Aviation Management Degree

  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.

 

Salary Range


The salary range for this position is between $49,000 and $55,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting. The
employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 20 pounds. Must be alert to equipment in the field,
occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure
to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
