Rate of pay: $100 per day during camp season.
Under the supervision of the Camp Director, the Administrative Specialist ensures a quality camp experience for camper, caregiver, and staff through organization and attention to detail. This position is responsible for administrative tasks such as the coordination of transportation logistics, organization of camper paperwork, coordination of camp photography, camper mail distribution, and more. This position is also responsible for carrying out supervision of campers, as needed, and supports the camp team with general camp operations.
- Organize camp office and support camp operations through administrative tasks
- Organize and compile camp lead binders prior to each session, ensuring camper paperwork is complete and camp staff have the information that they need to lead a successful camp experience for assigned campers
- Coordinates transportation logistics, including creation and distribution of camper arrival and departure bus lists, updating bus hotline, training bus chaperones, maintaining bus boxes, and coordinating use of camp vehicles
- Assists camp directors in camp communications, including organization of camp email inbox, responding to customers with general camp questions, management of incoming phone calls, and management of incoming and outgoing mail
- Coordinates camper and caregiver experience evaluations and inputs results in database
2. Coordinate camp photography
- Photographs camp activities daily, including group photos of each camper group
- Collects camp cameras, downloads photographs, and redistributes cameras in a timely manner
- Screens photos for poor quality or unusable photos
- Assists in distribution of camp photos to camper families each week
- Serves as a liaison to the marketing department to provide photographs and information as requested
3. Assist unit staff in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers as assigned
- Apply basic youth development principles in working with campers
- Know and implement safety guidelines, including camper supervision standards according to Girl Scout Safety Activity Checkpoints and American Camp Association
Other Job Duties:
- Participates in pre-camp staff training and in-service training sessions
- Participates enthusiastically in all-camp activities, planning and leading those as assigned
- Assists with delivery and pickup of camper luggage
- Assist in cleaning and maintenance of camp after each session and during end-of-season cleaning period
- Drive camp vehicles as needed
- Other administrative duties as assigned
