POSITION SUMMARY:

The Seasonal Maintenance Technician assists the Morrison County Public Works Department in the maintenance of Morrison Counties Roads, Bridges, Parks, Trails, Landfill, Public Drainage Systems and Facilities. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, the Seasonal Maintenance Worker will perform the following duties in a safe and efficient manner.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Performs skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor in the maintenance of Morrison County infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling and hand-eye coordination.
  2. Safely and skillfully operate equipment used for maintaining Morrison County infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to power and hand tools, lawnmowers, trimmers, vehicles, light and heavy equipment.
  3. Participate in traffic control during maintenance operations, consisting of flagging, use of radio, placing traffic control devices, moving and removing signs and barricades.
  4. Perform maintenance and conduct improvements on the Parks and Trails of Morrison County.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.
  6. Follow Morrison County policies and procedures, including established departmental dress code and safety requirements.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, materials, etc. often more than fifty pounds, and at times over one hundred pounds. Requires working in an outdoor environment sometimes with extreme weather conditions and occasional exposure to insects, animals, harmful plants, noxious weeds, and other environmental surroundings. Requires working in settings that require personal protective equipment due to site location, type of work, fumes, temperature, dust, and noise, at times this setting can be uncomfortable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma with a Class D Drivers License. Must have a minimum of one year of experience in operation of equipment utilized to maintain infrastructure or the ability and willingness to learn. Must have the ability to read, implement and comprehend operating and maintenance manuals for all equipment. Must respectfully interact with fellow employees, public and at times government representatives. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
