Job Summary: The CAC Specialty Summer Internship Program provides rising college seniors with practical, hands-on experience within the corporate risk management, insurance, and banking industries. The Power and Renewables intern will have exposure to  insurance experts supporting the global energy transition through the development of smarter and more accurate risk management and insurance solutions.


Dates: June 5, 2023– July 28, 2023 (flexible)


Schedule: Internships are full time, paid, seasonal positions that are typically eight weeks in length and can include lodging.


Course Credit: CAC Specialty will work with students to meet required course criteria for those who are obtaining academic credit for their summer internship. 


Internship Opportunity:


  • Work at the fastest growing insurance brokerage firm with integrated investment banking services
  • Interface with clients on corporate risk management products and solutions 
  • Coordinate with team on marketing and communications initiatives and planning for client/prospect events at industry conferences like CCS/Decarbonization Project Development, Finance & Investment Summit and RE+ Solar Power International.
  • Learn about leading insurance markets, natural catastrophe exposure and risk analysis.
  • Partner with senior leaders at CAC Natural Resources and be matched with a mentor
  • Work on projects with specialty team members as well as intern group presentations
  • Take part in team building exercises, development days, and community service initiatives
  • Gain corporate experience and professional training
  • Be considered for full time employment post-graduation in one of our offices




  • Understanding of corporate risk management, risk transfer, and structured solutions focused on solar, wind, storage and more to support the clean energy industry
  • Start-up experience from building a firm from the ground up
  • Sales & Marketing/Communications skills
  • Familiarity with corporate risk management terms
  • Professional presentation development skills
  • Team building and collaboration experiences


Required Qualifications:

  • Rising senior actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Insurance, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Have an interest in corporate event planning and developing marketing collateral
  • Have strong communication, networking, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude Experience working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Preferred prior working experience (can include part-time or over school breaks)
  • Adaptable to change and enjoys learning in a fast-paced environment
  • Long term interest in joining CAC Specialty
