About Mission Driven Finance

Learn more about us, our why, and our opportunities on our jobs page.

Mission Driven Finance uses finance as a tool for change. We’re all about mobilizing capital that will increase inclusive and equitable access to education, health, and wealth, and there are a lot of awesome things happening to achieve our mission. As our fully remote/distributed team continues to rapidly expand, we’re always looking for ways (and people!) to help us stay on track.

Mission Driven Finance conceived, created, and operates Care Access Real Estate (CARE), a private social impact REIT dedicated to the child care sector. The need for additional and better child care facilities has been largely neglected and severely undercapitalized until now, resulting in a child care supply crunch and the nearly universal experience for American working parents that finding suitable child care is nearly impossible. CARE fills this void by simultaneously creating an attractive way for impact-minded private capital to invest in the child care sector at scale while also alleviating from providers much of the complex and time-consuming work of opening a new facility.

CARE is a social impact real estate investment trust that will drive equitable access to quality early care and education, while also shifting economic wealth and power. CARE will create optimal, joyful child care spaces and lease them to providers at affordable rates as a child care-friendly landlord, and will prioritize occupancy in its properties by small-scale historically marginalized providers serving economically diverse families, and CARE will target locations with insufficient child care supply. Launching as a private REIT holding a diversified portfolio of commercial and residential properties across the U.S., CARE intends to work toward an IPO into a public REIT in order to drive massive investment capital into the child care system.

CARE’s goal is to acquire and stabilize over 500 properties within 10 years and is adding a key leadership role to the team to manage CARE’s finance functions.
