MISSION
We empower healing for individuals who were sexually abused as children or adolescents through retreats, support groups, and online resources.
We educate and engage parents and caregivers to protect children from sexual abuse through community and online resources.
We drive awareness to motivate individuals to take action against child sexual abuse.
Qualifications
We are seeking a Communications Manager to work on our Awareness team to lead out on Saprea’s public relations initiatives, support marketing efforts related to local, regional, and national media placements, develop and cultivate media contacts.
Educational/Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or public relations
Experience Requirements

6 to 8 years previous work in communications or public relations

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Proven track record with public relations outreach, crisis management, media relations,
and maintaining brand voice across contacts and channels.
Responsibilities

Research and proactively pitch media coverage locally, regionally, and nationally to
promote Saprea and our mission

Maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media

Write press releasees, media pitches, and respond to media inquires

Proofread and edit copy to ensure writing is clear, compelling, on on-brand

Train and coach staff for media opportunities

Pursue executive speaking opportunities and help prepare executive staff for speaking
engagements

Participate in communications strategy and campaign planning
-
Track and provide communications analysis to stakeholders and management
-
Work closely with internal teams and collaborate cross functionally with all departments
to support communications, philanthropy, awareness, and outreach initiatives

Monitor and update teams on communications industry trends

Lead media focused events
-
Develop executive keynotes and talking points for external speaking opportunities with
strong emotional storytelling arc to impactfully convey Saprea’s message
