OVERVIEW:

The Manufacturing Production Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operations of our manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Sourcing Director, the Production Manager oversees all aspects of production, from planning and scheduling to execution and quality control. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage a team of employees while optimizing processes to meet production targets and maintain high-quality standards. The Manufacturing Production Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence within the production team. This role is critical to the success of our manufacturing operation and requires a proactive and results-driven individual dedicated to achieving operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise a small to mid-size team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. This position will direct the team on their daily production goals and task assignments. Facilitate cross training and skill development through coaching and mentoring.
  • Determine and maintain the appropriate level of staff via varying labor models to achieve production targets. This includes using flexible staffing models including using seasonal production workers and shift variation during peak times.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and minimize downtime using various Lean principles and philosophies.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and repair activities to ensure reliable operation and minimize production disruptions.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement among production team members.
  • Assist in developing and improving current procedures to obtain maximum efficiencies.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and production efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels of both raw materials and finished goods, using the systems available and shared by cross functional partners.
  • Responsible for payroll processing and designated employee administrative and cultural programs, in collaboration with the human resources team.
  • Provide support when necessary outside of production floor with any vendor/customer issues.
  • Work with Product Directors and Engineers to fabricate new product concepts and assist with the development of new products.
  • Assist on the production floor as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Experience leading/supervising a team required (3-5 years preferred).
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that coaches and mentors all production workers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Ability to recognize and solve problems appropriately with little or no assistance.
  • Ability to motivate and coach employees in achieving the goals of the department.
  • Demonstrated team player.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools. Occasional use of forklifts, hoists, and other tools used in assembly. Forklift certified or certifiable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
