Primary Job Function

Set-up and run powder coat line, coating a variety of parts to cosmetic standards and Q-chips.  Creates quality color chips for production controls based on manufacturer, color and texture of surface. Manages powder inventory. Supervises powder coat helpers. Advises for proper surface finishes as needed to achieve powder coat cosmetics. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs the loading carriers of parts to and from phosphate line for cleaning;
  • Racking/un-racking, and masking/un-masking parts on the powder line
  • Powder coats all parts with powder equipment
  • Manages parts and equipment through the baking/curing cycle

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the quality of parts coming off the powder line.
  • Supervision of the Powder Coat Helpers
  • Performs periodic preventive maintenance
  • Follows established safety protocols including required usage of PPE, helps to maintain a safe working environment

 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

These are the minimum skills, knowledge, education, certifications and related job experience that the candidate must have to perform essential functions of the job acceptably.

  • Basic math and measurement skills                               
  • Ability to correctly operate grinding/finishing equipment with proper grit media
  • 2 years experience with powder coat lines, powder coating equipment, oven baking systems and textures
  • Must be able to pass a respirator medical evaluation and utilize all required PPE  
  • Dependability; honesty & integrity; a positive, proactive attitude; ability to use time productively, working with minimal supervision
