Hart Crowser is an environmental, geotechnical, and natural resources consulting firm with offices in the Seattle, Portland, Spokane, Hawaii, and Guam (www.hartcrowser.com).  We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Hydrogeologist having 5 to 20 years of professional experience to join our Seattle Environmental group.

Required Education

Our Hydrogeologist will have a minimum of a BS degree in Geology or Hydrogeology (preferably a Masters). The candidate must be or qualified to be a licensed Geologist and/or Hydrogeologist in Washington. Other requirements include appropriate knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and working knowledge of consulting firm operations, including project accounting, marketing, and similar operations.

Preferred Skills and Experience

A range of drilling and groundwater monitoring technologies, hydrogeologic site characterization including identification of aquifers and aquitards, evaluation of groundwater flow, interpretation of subsurface data, developing conceptual hydrogeologic models, conducting and analyzing aquifer tests, investigation and remediation of contaminated groundwater and soil, construction dewatering, infiltration testing, water resource evaluation/water rights, groundwater modeling (flow, transport), environmental geochemistry and contaminant transport. Candidates that have database/GIS skills are preferred, but not required. The successful candidate will be familiar with federal and state environmental laws and regulations.


Duties will include conducting and managing environmental and hydrogeologic field investigations for contaminated site cleanups, construction dewatering, stormwater infiltration, and groundwater resource evaluations, analyzing hydrogeologic test data and preparing well written work plans and reports. Other duties will include general environmental field sampling, construction oversight, conducting environmental site assessments, and other field and office tasks as assigned.

Other duties will include assisting in development and execution of strategic marketing and pursuit plans; engaging in business development activities and maintaining client relations; managing projects and delivery of technically excellent work products; mentoring and developing junior staff members; and supporting and encouraging an existing culture of teamwork, quality, service, and fun.

This position requires an individual with strong written and verbal communications. The responsibilities of this position will require some travel and the ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. and have a current drivers’ license with good driving record.
