Job Description

The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. has an opening for a Human Resources Manager in its New York City office. A candidate should have 5-7 years of human resources experience. The position provides the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct practice group staff support needs analysis and prepare ADA compliant job descriptions to ensure high-performing, qualified candidates are recruited for open positions.
  • Manage talent acquisition to include conducting interviews and hiring staff members according to best practices.
  • Conduct onboarding for all new office hires and communicate firm policy and procedures for consistent application.
  • Maintain office efficiency by planning for and implementing staff assistance on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor staff time, attendance and accruals.
  • Responsible for coaching, mentoring, and documenting all staff performance meetings.
  • Facilitate communication with HR Director on payroll/benefits/leaves of absence matters for all employees.
  • Collaborate with firm managers to implement procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiency.

 

Qualifications

  • College degree in Human Resources or other business-related discipline; or SHRM certification.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with NM employees and clients.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Law firm experience preferred.
