Position Summary

Performance of routine maintenance on forklifts and other manufacturing equipment as needed. Support Maintenance team in various facilities maintenance duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Basic and preventative maintenance and repair on equipment, fork trucks, and other machinery.

  • Maintain forklift maintenance and operational history by initiating and updating records

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment including lubrication,

  • Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.

  • Maintains facilities as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, including but not limited to snow plowing, salting, yard maintenance, floor cleaning, general cleaning, painting, light electrical, and light plumbing.

  • Concrete repair in the parking lot,

  • improving/maintaining safety compliance

  • Conducts daily facilities maintenance inspection checks.

  • Assists and observes electro-mechanical/pneumatic devices in operation, diagnoses problems, performs corrective action, and ensures proper operation post-repair.

  • Assist operators in troubleshooting equipment when quality or efficiencies are less than standard.

  • Working knowledge in operation and maintenance of facility management services, plumbing and electrical systems, security systems and equipment maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School or GED

  • 5 +years of related experience

  • Problem-solving

  • Communication (verbal/written)

  • Basic math to include %, circumference and volume

  • Ability to read diagrams

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.

  • Must be available for call-in and overtime on all shifts.

  • Availability Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

  • Availability to Operate small hand/power tools and measuring devices

  • Ability to operate a scissor lift, UTV/snowplow, snow blower, and forklift.

  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed

  • Able to stand (85%); walk (10%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required

  • Able to wear required PPE; ear plugs, safety glasses, steel toed boots.

  • Most of the year temperatures inside the plant will match or exceed the outdoor conditions as bay doors remain open

  • Weld smoke and metal cutting machine filtration systems minimize smoke but do not eliminate it. Air quality is below OSHA PEL (Permissible Exposure Limits) guidelines; therefore, Respirator use not required by standard, Voluntary Use only- must have medical evaluation prior.
