SENIOR PAYROLL SPECIALIST, SELF-DIRECTED SERVICES

Job Details

Corporate Headquarters - Linthicum Heights, MD
High School/ GED
$26.75 Hourly
Greater Chesapeake Area
Non-Direct Support Professional/ Administrative

Description

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live, work, and connect with their community.

Even though we are the largest self-directed services provider in Maryland with over 1800 participant employers enrolled statewide, our Self-Directed Services team is anything but impersonal. The work we do directly supports employers with (I/DD) in experiencing greater self-determination, independence, and choice. Expanding our administrative capacity when it comes to processing payroll and ensuring timely bi-weekly payments to our stakeholder is essential to helping us live up to our mission. And that matters to us.

As we build the future of self-direction in Maryland, the Senior Payroll Specialist will be a key member of the Self-Directed Services team, working to process payroll on a bi-weekly basis and assist the Payroll team in processing employee onboarding, updates, rehires, terminations, etc. The Senior Payroll Specialist will facilitate open communication with all program stakeholders regarding program and internal policies and procedures and must be able to successfully manage multiple demands and processing deadlines. Common tasks will include receiving, auditing, entering, and correcting timesheet information, ensuring employees’ onboarding documentation is in order for them to receive payments, and communicating with employees, employers, and their support teams regarding requirements and procedures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate a high level of customer service experience, value accuracy and attention to detail in their work, communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders, and work well independently and as part of a team. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, though a bachelor’s degree in business or human resources is preferred, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Payroll processing. This position comes with a competitive benefits package and is a fully remote position, but the candidate must be able to travel to our Linthicum Heights, Maryland headquarters or other Maryland sites for meetings as needed.

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) is a dynamic regional organization providing person-centered supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live, work, and connect with their communities. We advocate for equity and access for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live self-determined lives and foster opportunities towards self-sufficiency.
