SUMMARY

Assist the Human Resources department the implementation and execution of various human resource functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Help distribute materials for internal/external communications including:
    • Seasonal employee correspondence such as postcards and newsletters;
    • Recruitment materials;
    • Training manuals;
    • Employee directories;
    • And other collateral pieces as designated.
  • Assist with general HR duties and coordination of HR events including job fair, employee orientation and seasonal application center.
    • Purge expired paperwork;
    • Maintain and track necessary employment documentation;
    • File and maintain records.
    • Assist with New Hire Orientation for both Full Time and Seasonal Staff
    • Aide candidates in completing applications and new hire paperwork;
    • Communicate with hiring managers about staffing needs;
    • Attend recruitment fairs;
    • Aide training manager with pre-training preparation.
    • Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates
    • Post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic Human Resources principles and concepts
  • Data entry skills
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (primarily Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Available for a minimum of 25-30 hours per week
  • Must be able work some nights and weekends.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Currently enrolled in a collegiate program.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
