Job Details

The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. has an opening for an Events Coordinator in its Bridgewater office. Candidates should have 1-3 years of event planning experience, ideally, in a professional services or a law firm. The position provides the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

  • Collaborate with attorneys and the Firm’s business development team to plan, coordinate and oversee internal and external events as a lead or support person responsible for list development, invite creation, promotion, vendor selection and management, event logistics and execution, post-event participant engagement evaluation and ROI analysis.
  • Work with the BD & Marketing Manager to manage the events and promotional items budget, additional budgets and expenses and help to ensure events are cost-effective, delivered on time and on budget.
  • Assist in the development and regular reporting of metrics, improve event efficiency, and evaluate vendor relationships for service quality, value, and cost effectiveness.
  • Leverage market awareness and industry best practices to recommend and facilitate innovative solutions on event programs and execution, including refining existing programs and establishing new events and initiatives.
  • Process all vendor invoices.
  • Ability to transition events to a remote format (and shift responsibilities to support other business development and marketing functions) if it becomes necessary to a move to a remote work environment.
  • Perform other marketing and business development duties as assigned.

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsorship partners and outside vendors.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exemplary writing ability: solid grammar, spelling and proofreading skills required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing in a professional, courteous manner with clients, firm members, and other business contacts.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and be highly organized and accurate.
  • Ability to remain productive and accurate under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and can work independently.
  • A strong client service ethic and the ability to react quickly to requests from lawyers and leadership at all levels.
  • Strong desire to grow in the position, be proactive, contribute ideas and anticipate obstacles and opportunities within the scope of the position.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to work events as necessary with some evening and weekend programs.
  • The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of meeting/event planning experience in a law firm or professional services firm. Degree in marketing, communications, hospitality management or a related field strongly preferred.
