Overview

Keeneland Association, a leader in Thoroughbred Racing & Sales, is seeking quality candidates for the Patron Operations Internship for the Fall 2024-Spring 2024 academic year to work with the full time Patron Operations department with various events and activations. Throughout the year interns will also have the opportunity to participate in educational, interactive and career development programming as well support other departments including Marketing, Guest Services, Promotions, Special Events, Sponsorship and Hospitality.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Patron Operations Manager to prepare logistics for the race meet.
  • Work across departments to manage signage and wayfinding for patrons during the race meet and off-season.
  • Assist in managing patron operations as it relates to parking
  • Manage The Hill, Keeneland’s dedicated tailgating lot, during race meet including coordinating with vendors and managing promotions and activations in this space.
  • Assist with Patron Experience team initiatives during the live auctions in September and October.

  • Commitment of participation for one academic calendar year
  • Must be available to work weekends and some evenings during the Race Meets (October & April)
  • Intern must be enrolled as a full-time college student
  • Organized, creative, and flexible
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
