Shadow the Administrative Services Print Manager and Director to gain an understanding of the creative operation of materials used in all aspects of the racing, sales and event spaces on our campus. This opportunity will allow for in depth insight into what it takes to turn creative requests into tangible items needed for the success of our operations and events. Upon completion of this internship, the student will have a knowledge base that will help them with an overall view from start to finish of the creative process to develop marketing and informational material needed for the operation of a major sports/ event venue.

 

  • Aid the Administrative Services Department by representing Keeneland on event, promotional material needed for all on-site activities

  • Support the operations of the department with such tasks as signage set up, printing, cutting and organizing all requests from our creative team.

  • Assist with the planning and execution of Keeneland printed material needed for various events including production and wide format work flows

  • Assist in day-to-day operations by managing projects within internal trafficking system

  • Assist the creative team with design production & execution of various marketing materials

  • Support the operations of the department with such tasks as organizing data, assisting with on-site signage, research requests and more.

  • Assist the Administrative Services department with planning and implementing of signage and printed materials needed during the race meet and other various special events

  • Assist marketing with Keeneland’s additional lines of business Keeneland Shop, Keeneland Hospitality, Keeneland Select, and the Keeneland Library via printed signage and materials

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled or recently earned a degree in Marketing, Communications, Integrated Strategic Communications, Graphic Design or a related field.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse clients.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

  • Organized with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.

  • Ability to simultaneously manage projects and meet deadlines; creative and flexible.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Willingness to follow Keeneland’s policies and procedures.

  • Interest in the equine industry preferred.

  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

  • Must have the ability to safely use cutting tools such as razor blades, wall cutter, rotary cutter, etc. Training will be provided.

  • Ability to read and use measuring tools such as rulers, measuring tape, squares, etc.

  • Should possess a moderate amount of spatial reasoning
