Description

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live, work, and connect with their community.

Even though we are the largest self-directed services provider in Maryland with over 2300 participant employers enrolled statewide, our Self-Directed Services team is anything but impersonal. The work we do directly supports employers with (I/DD) in experiencing greater self-determination, independence, and choice. Expanding our administrative capacity when it comes to financial statements, budgets, and reporting to support our continual growth is essential to helping us live up to our mission. And that matters to us.

As we build the future of self-direction in Maryland, the Financial Reporting Specialist will be a key member of the Self-Directed Services Financial Reporting team, assisting with the development of financial statements, processing annual budgets and modifications, and supporting budget utilization reviews. This position is responsible for ensuring timely responses to stakeholder tickets and will exceed contract customer service resolution timelines. The Financial Reporting Specialist will work closely with the Stakeholder Relations team and facilitate open communication with all program stakeholders regarding program and internal policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate a high level of customer service experience, value accuracy and attention to detail in their work, communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders, and work well independently and as part of a team. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, though a bachelor’s degree in business is preferred. This role also requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least one of those years focusing on direct customer interaction. This position comes with a competitive benefits package and is a fully remote position, but the candidate must be able to travel to our Linthicum, Maryland headquarters or other Maryland sites for meetings as needed.
