Description

Chesapeake Neighbors was founded in 2007 by The Arc Central Chesapeake Region to provide, promote, and support safe, affordable, and accessible housing for people and families in need.

As we build the future of housing, the Manager of Tenant Services will be a pivotal member of the Chesapeake Neighbors team. The Manager of Tenant Services is responsible for promoting and leasing properties to potential tenants, ensuring excellent customer service throughout the process. This position will ensure compliance with fair housing laws throughout the leasing cycle, which includes reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and verifying tenant eligibility. Supporting activities related to rent collection and developing a tenant services and retention program will be essential duties of this position.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage positive communication in challenging or ambiguous situations. Working collaboratively with diverse personalities and populations is essential for this role, as is partnering with the Property Management team and Executive Director to ensure positive outcomes, maintain detailed records, and coordinate inspections and audits.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of property leasing and/or tenant relations experience, though a bachelor’s in business or a related field and experience with affordable housing are preferred. This position includes a competitive benefit package.
