Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00am-4:30am (schedule subject to change due to repairs and projects)

We are currently seeking to add a Plant Maintenance Technician to our team on day shift. We offer a starting base wage of $23.38/Hr., along with regular increases and weekly bonuses! Plant Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, property structures, and the facility grounds.

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  

Work safely following all company safety policies and procedures as well as those of the EPA and OSHA

  

Survey, troubleshoot and repair all facility electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and building systems

  

Maintain heating and plumbing systems

  

Complete general housekeeping duties as well as landscaping and painting

  

Respond to radio calls in a timely manner and complete work orders as assigned

  

Perform weekly, monthly, or annual preventative maintenance tasks

  

Ensure necessary replacement parts are on hand and schedule maintenance based on part availability

  

Stay until work on downed equipment is completed or proper handoff to another tech has taken place

  

Coordinate special projects, as needed

  

Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal work load.

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

High school diploma/GED or higher

 

3-5 years maintenance experience, required

 

Knowledge of various repair and calibration tools; welding, electrical, or environmental systems skills, a plus

 

Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and manlifts

 

Knowledge of safety procedures including but not limited to: lockout tagout, confined space entry, line opening, fall protection, and hot work

  

Accurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, operator manuals, service manuals, and wiring schematics associated with the maintenance and/or operation of instruments and equipment

  

Effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers and follow written and/or verbal instructions

  

Tolerance of varying environmental conditions – heat, cold, and/or wet and slippery conditions

  

Occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. from floor to waist level

  

Frequently bend at the waist and/or knees

  

Ability to stand for long periods of time – up to 10-12 hours a day

  

Ability to distinguish colors (i.e., wire codes)

  

Ability to work additional hours on short notice to fill in for an absent co-worker, accommodate a heavier than normal workload, or to assist with special projects
