Summary:
Provide technical support developing and revising CMM programs for Bloomingdale and Glendale Heights facilities. Supervise CMM Inspectors and provide technical assistance to CMM Operators. Submit Concessions and Deviations to customers for the acceptance of nonconforming product. Create/revise Inspection Work Instructions, Quality Alerts and Inspection Plans to reduce scrap, internal nonconformances, and customer complaints. Provide training for the use of inspection gauges and CMM equipment. Support NPI and Cold Starts with development of Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Process Capability support, Inspection Plans, and statistical analysis. Support daily manufacturing operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create CMM programs (PCDMIS) and/or modify existing CMM programs.
Submit Customer Concessions or Deviation Requests for nonconforming product. Evaluate, test, and over-inspect nonconforming parts to document the nonconformance condition for customer approval.
Communicate with customers regarding Inspection methods, gauges, Non-destructive and destructive testing specifications, and/or clarification of specifications or drawing issues.
Identify and document customer product specifications and inspection criteria on AF Inspection Plans.
Identify inspection measurement requirements for new products as a member of NPI Team. Regularly attend Design Review Meetings for new products.
Evaluate potential failure modes and risk assessments while documenting PFMEAs, and Control Plans.
Train operators and inspectors on the use of inspection gauging identified in Inspection Plans.
Perform Internal and Process Audits. Facilitate Corrective and Preventive Actions.
Create work instructions and procedures in support of the AS9100D Quality Management System.
Interact with operators to gather input and feedback on product quality and inspection methods.
Participate in Kaizen continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts within company.
Supervises 3 5 CMM Operators

Qualifications

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Seven years’ experience using CMM with PCDMIS Software
Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality requirements, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP
Minimum four years’ experience applying print standards and GD&T towards product inspection.
Minimum four years’ experience with the use of metrology tools and gages for inspection
Understanding of AS9100D Quality Management System requirements
Experience performing AS9100D Internal or Process audits
Self-starter, internally motivated to support operations
Ability to work quickly and accurately in a supportive manufacturing role
Solid knowledge base of Microsoft Office applications
Strong oral and written communication with the ability to present information to employees at all levels of the organization.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols and customer specifications.

Education
Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a degree in Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
