Description

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live, work, and connect with their community.

The work we do directly supports employers with IDD in experiencing greater self-determination, independence, and choice in their services.

As the Assistant Director of Payroll, you will provide end-to-end leadership for payroll operations and strong management of the Payroll team. In partnership with Stakeholder Relations, the Assistant Director of Payroll will provide high-level customer service for all Participant employers and employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll for over 4500+ employees, submission of payroll-related reports, and processing payroll taxes.

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate strong analytical, project management, and documentation skills, along with the ability to exercise good judgement in sensitive situations. The Assistant Director of Payroll will be skilled at finding creative ways for improvement of processes to drive results and will be able to work well and adapt to an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and best practices will be a key focus while working cross-functionally to prepare for and facilitate external audits. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and 5 years’ experience in large, complex payroll administration. This position comes with a competitive total rewards package and is located in our Linthicum, MD Headquarters.
