Job Title: Customer Account Representative
Reports to: VP Sales & Business Development FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
At Abrasive Form, we power and protect the planet. Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and
Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining. We manufacture turbine blades and vanes for many of the largest gas turbine
manufactures and militaries around the world. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM),
and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding.
The Customer Account Representative is a business-critical role, requiring strong communication and organizational
skills with a solutions-oriented mindset. The Customer Account Representative is internal and external customer facing
and requires a relationship and detail-oriented individual with strong verbal and written communication skills. This
highly visible position provides a great opportunity to connect organizational skills, technical problem solving, and
relationship development to achieve superior results.
The Customer Account Representative supports the operations and overall business success by managing customer
needs, coordinating internal activities, and partnering with the Quality team, Operation Leaders, Shipping and Receiving
team and the Engineering team to deliver on customer commitments. The Customer Account Representative acts as the
primary point of contact between Abrasive Form and the customer, ensuring customer expectations are managed and
met while achieving organizational goals.

customers and the organization. They will have exemplary communication, collaboration, problem solving, and time
management skills and serve as a role model and leader to peers. The Customer Account Representative is a CRITICAL
player in the success of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Builds rapport and maintains regular communications with customers remotely or onsite at customer location.
Builds rapport with Operations, Engineering & Quality team members, supervisors and managers.
Communicates with the Senior Leadership team, Operations, Engineering & Quality regularly, reporting details
of customer meetings, especially, critical information related to customer needs/changes and/or impediments
to delivery plans or timelines.
Works with customers to improve operational and quality performance by participating or leading improvement
teams through to completion.
Assists with capacity planning, production forecast and production planning.
Oversee all customer orders from beginning to end:
o Contract Review and Order Management.
o Reviews orders for work scope, specification changes, pricing, shipping instructions and enters as
necessary into internal processing systems.
o Works with production planning to provide overview of customer demand signal and prioritize customer
needs for execution on the production floor.
o Coordinates the receipt of customer consigned parts and prepares necessary documentation to release
parts to production floor for processing.
o Manages any required outside supply chain needed to fulfill customer orders.
o Coordinates required customer approvals and shipment documentation to ship customer requirements.
o Organizes activities for transportation of customer products by specified deadlines.
o Coordinates with Quality team to document and track nonconforming submittals and clearance.
o Stays up to speed with production deadlines and customer product status.
o Stays up to speed with new product introduction deadlines and status.

o Assists with inventory forecasting and inventory controls to support timely product delivery.
Travel about 15% of the time.
Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
Work to be performed primarily at the Bloomingdale & Glendale Heights facilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Customer Service Management or Supply Chain
Management. An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
Minimum 1 year in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong business acumen to understand the business and apply knowledge to current situation and future
solutions.
Organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage to timelines and commitments.
Demonstrated successful experience taking ownership of account(s).
Experience interacting with senior leaders, both internally and externally.
Strong Microsoft skills primarily in excel, word & power point.
Self-starter and adept at working with minimal supervision.
Exercises judgment independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing global customers, preferred.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands
Frequent sitting at a computer in an office setting. Physical strength to lift and carry 25 pounds on occasion. Must be
comfortable to be in the office and on the plant floor around equipment. Constant use of a computer is required.
Frequent walking, standing, stooping and bending. Occasional lifting and twisting. In accordance with applicable law,

requirements.
Working Environment
Usual combined office and manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations, noise from and interactions
around equipment, and safety standards of PPE and practices required.
