The Billing Supervisor will liaise with Billing Manager on the day-to-day billing in LA.  They will be responsible for training new staff. Working collaboratively with the attorneys and department to make edits to a high volume of monthly prebills and subsequent invoices for submission to clients, while also following firm/client specific guidelines. The Billing Supervisor will input rates, (including e-billing, as appropriate) and ensure the client billing guidelines are correctly set up in client billing system (Aderant). Other tasks include responding to questions related to the client billing,  including A/R,  unbilled time and costs, research and other duties as assigned.  This position requires excellent communication skills and a positive team player spirit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle workflow related supervision of Billing Specialists
  • Issue and track prebills until completion while handling attorney requests
  • Monitor and edit prebills/invoices in response to attorney requests and revise/reissue as needed
  • Liaise with clients, attorneys and staff to finalize bills
  • Manage complex billing situations such as multiple billing address setup, split bills, and multi-payers
  • Full e-Billing setup, maintenance, rate submission, and tracking e-billing approval process
  • Monitor, rectify, and appeal e-billing rejections
  • Confirm and setup new client addresses
  • Enter and confirm special billing requirements to track compliance
  • Special projects and hands-on reporting as needed
  • Assist with incoming client emails

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have a minimum 3 years' experience as a biller in a law firm environment
  • Experience with Aderant (or Elite) billing system preferred
  • Familiarity with consolidated multi-matter billing desired
  • Electronic (e-billing) experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities as required

Position: Non-Exempt

Location: 5 days onsite until 90-day probation, then Hybrid (Century City). 

Salary: $95k - $105k base plus excellent package on offer including insurance and performance-related bonuses. The base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors.
