Summer Internship
Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, LLP, an internationally recognized intellectual property law firm located in Falls Church, VA, has an exciting opportunity for a summer internship position. This internship position will support the Docketing Department. This will be a temporary internship between May 13, 2024 and August 30, 2024.
Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Docketing Manager
Position Summary: The Summer Internship position supports the Docketing Department. The candidate will be responsible for docketing matters relating to PTO mails and other assigned matters.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree is preferred.
Strongly preferred: Ability to work in fast-paced environment with great attention to detail, including neatness, accuracy, punctuality and ability to review and perform data entry of PTO and client correspondence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Docket due dates in firm IP portfolio management system; docketable dates to include, but not limited to, PTO mail and with due dates.
- Create new records in firm IP portfolio management system upon Docketing Manager request.
- Adhere to internal timetable for handling and clearing the department docket.
- Process incoming attachments and save all communications in the appropriate document management system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
