Advanced Research Associate, Cell & Gene Therapy

Position Summary:

This position will work within the Cell and Gene Therapy Applications group to provide scientific support of cell and gene therapy related Bio-Techne products. In this role, you would be responsible for assisting in lab maintenance, performing cell culture experiments, running molecular biology experiments, and writing standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform standard cell culture and gene editing experiments
• Assist and/or run routine molecular biology assays
• Help maintain lab organization and operations
• Document results and prepare reports summarizing data 
• Support development of Bio-Techne reagents and consumables  
• Draft and/or revise standard operating procedures 
• Carry out troubleshooting activities 
• Collaborate with other departments/labs as needed 
• Help train new employees as needed 
• Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations 
• Perform additional duties as assigned 

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in a related field and up to 2 years of relevant experience 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Lab experience in cell culture
• Experience with primary cell lines, especially T or NK cells strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required  
• Be able to work in a fast-faced environment where multitasking is required  
• Analyze data in order to make effective decisions 
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
• Work well both independently and in a team environment
