Job Summary

Together with the Clinical Education Team, develop and implement the clinical program for Sunrise Medical North America, with the main objective to increase clinical understanding and application of our products to both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. prescribing clinicians), while continuously increasing the clinical effectiveness of sales representatives in order to achieve company growth goals. At times, serve as clinical consultant to various stakeholders regarding the clinical application of Sunrise products, clinical substantiation for product launches, and foundation for sales team training. Develop clinical strategy and assets for product development and launches that will support the products advantages and provide data for marketing/selling of the products.

 Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Education

  • Support the continued clinical education and effectiveness of Sunrise Medical Account Managers to support clinical pull-through of the entire product portfolio.
  • Together with the Clinical Education Team, develop and execute the clinical education curriculum for Sunrise Medical North America. Correlate program to Sunrise medical product’s clinical advantages and clinical trends.
  • Define and create educational content and program formats relevant to targeted audiences.
  • Procure and Maintain CEU’s for all educational courses.
  • Develop and provide internal education to Sunrise Medical Employees relative to product development and sales, customer service, and overall knowledge of consumer/rider information.
  • Deliver education programs and events across the assigned region and NA as needed by working directly with the respective Regional Director and Account Managers with the ultimate goal of increasing sales through clinical pull-through.
  • Generate papers and articles for publication in trade publications.
  • Create content and present at major and minor conferences, e.g. ISS, Nufairs, NSM Academy, Act Now, etc. whether in-person or virtual.
  • Establish best in class digital presence on clinical education providing prescribers easy access to in-person or digital content and establish SUNRISE MEDICAL as an industry leader.
  • Participate from start-up of product ideas with product managers, incorporating clinical and product input from therapists, riders, suppliers, and account managers.
  • Contract with outside presenters to create content for Sunrise Medical.
  • Participate in in-person as well as virtual trade shows and conferences as needed.
  • Continuously measure the effectiveness of all programs for continued improvement and provide regular corresponding reports to the Director of Clinical Education.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • A clinical degree within Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or similar degree required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the complex rehabilitation technology market or equivalent
  • Certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America preferred, Seating and Mobility Specialist (SMS) a plus!
  • Proven ability to simplify complex problems        
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to present to large audiences and facilitate discussions during focus groups
  • Has the experience or can demonstrate a strong capacity to write and deliver clinical education content to fellow professionals with an emphasis on adult learning techniques
  • Required to travel between 50-75% of the time
  • Interest in clinical research and pursuing certifications to design and execute clinical evaluations
