This position works 32hrs. (Paid for 40hrs)

 

Your Role: As a Chemical Health Professional, you will provide dual diagnosis clinical treatment counseling and case management to adults and families. This includes facilitating both individual and group services, with a strong emphasis on engaging participants and delivering clinical services through multidisciplinary teamwork and coordination. The Chemical Health Professional is the key contact for clients from program entry to discharge, responsible for outreach, needs assessment, planning and resource identification, service linkages, monitoring, ongoing reassessment, and client advocacy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, mission-driven services.
  • Demonstrate commitment to SAMSHA’s definition of recovery and recovery principles: “A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.”
  • Develop treatment plans, engaging and motivating participants to work toward recovery goals.
  • Facilitate educational and process groups.
  • Coordinate care with community partners for all clients.
  • Coordinate referral transportation services as needed.
  • Coordinate referrals to the Peer Mentor Program.
  • Connect participants with community resources, including housing, health care, and social supports.
  • Majority of direct client contact occurs at the treatment location.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s degree (preferred).
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience.
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). Must be licensed and in compliance with the appropriate licensure board (e.g., Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy). Maintain current license and inform the supervisor immediately of any change in licensure status.
  • 2 years or more of freedom from substance abuse problems.
  • Experience and/or training in group facilitation.
  • Experience with and/or commitment to working in a diverse continuum of services within a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Experience with and/or a demonstrated commitment to developing and delivering culturally responsive services.
  • Knowledge of 245G statutes.
