Description

The Manager of Product Information will lead the collection, management, and deployment of product information. This position is responsible for developing the strategies for the processes, systems, and staffing for product information. It will also drive strategy execution and ensure delivery on priorities developed for all elements of Stellar’s product information. Specific areas of impact include product data structure planning (taxonomy, attributes, etc.), PIM system business ownership, inventory management reporting, data collection processes, and product data governance.

Cross-functional leadership and collaboration will be critical to this role’s success, as well as direct leadership of the Product Information Team. Working closely with Pricing, Website, Product Management, IT Teams, and Supplier Partners will be essential.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall product information for Stellar, including an evolving roadmap of short-term and long-term improvements.
  • Develop and lead the operational processes needed to add and maintain SKUs.
  • Define and oversee the data governance designs and standards for Stellar, including attribute normalization and minimum SKU publishing standards.
  • Lead and execute the strategy to define the data collection and maintenance processes to ensure quality product information.
  • Lead, define, and ensure appropriate capture, publishing and maintenance of taxonomy and product information library.
  • Build processes and systems to leverage multiple inbound sources of product information, merge into Stellar’s defined data structures and maintain quality control.
  • Primary business owner and vendor manager for PIM system solution provider.
  • Smart Inventory administration
  • Customer specific inventory reporting
  • Continuously strive for potential advances in product information and related processes to drive ever-improving customer experience and business results.
  • Manage external consulting services, leveraged for data collection, manipulation, and quality.
  • Mentor and coach team members to encourage the growth and development of each individuals’ skills and professional experiences by cross-functional partnership experiences and process improvement projects.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: What experience or amount of experience is needed to be successful in this position?

  • 3-5 years of experience in product information
  • At least one year of supervisory experience

Skills and Abilities: Technical skills and soft skills that are needed to be successful in this position.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to connect positively with customers and others
  • Experience with ERP type computer program is desired, but not required
  • Comfortable with working a sales driven and service focused environment
  • Desire to continually improve
  • Strong attention to detail and follow up

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 

  • Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.

Work Environment:

  • Safe to minimal hazards that are typically found in general office environment where there is rarely little or no exposure to injury or accident.
