Lakeshore Beverage is looking for a Human Resources Assistant who will report to and support the Regional Director of HR and Labor Relations & Region HR Manager. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday; the work location is on Goose Island, although occasional travel to other company locations in the Chicagoland area is sometimes required.
The Human Resources Assistant provides a broad range of human resources expertise and hands-on administration for both the regional and corporate offices. The successful candidate must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HR Assistant is responsible for processes related to all things HR. This position assists managers and employees with personnel matters related to staffing, hiring, payroll, benefits, employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, employment separation and unemployment claims. We’re seeking an individual who will be able to communicate and explain HR policies, procedures, guidelines and compliance, and who will assist with ongoing HR programs, department initiatives, reporting, and any activities/projects as needed.
EXPERIENCE:
- Zero to Two years hands-on experience in a variety of primary human resources activities (such as, employment testing, onboarding/orientations, attendance tracking, recognition, leave administration, performance reviews, employee exits, unemployment claims)
- Thorough understanding of employment laws, regulations and HR best practices (Title VII, FLSA, ADA, Leaves of Absence, FMLA, USERRA, WC, etc.)
- Familiarity with employee benefits and enrollment procedures and assisting with claims forms
- Experience in HRIS and/or payroll processing (Paycom preferred but not required)
