Scope

Provides and controls contract review, revisions and amendments for the Company’s syndication and interactive agreements, and/or other non-publishing business affairs as requested.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft, review, revise and control syndication and interactive contract completion and compliance
  • Draft, review and revise other non-publishing agreements as requested
  • Monitor, and where applicable, identify and commence extensions and amendments in compliance with agreements
  • Maintain and oversee contract database(s) and hard copy files
  • Review possible intellectual property infringements and pursue appropriate legal remedies (DMCA takedown requests, etc.)
  • Work with outside counsel in selected matters, as directed
  • Review internal legal agreement issues as requested
  • Assist CFO with other matters that may be assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment in communicating contract issues to others
  • Strong contract drafting skills and understanding of relevant contract law
  • Familiarity with web-based databases, Microsoft Word, and it’s redlining functions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and prioritize projects
  • Knowledge of, and proficiency to research, general business law

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a legal setting working with contracts and agreements
  • Working knowledge of contracts, general business law and intellectual property, copyrights
  • Proficient in Word (red-line functions), database management, and legal research
  • Experience with intellectual property rights and/or the licensing industry is beneficial, but not required.
  • Negotiation experience would be beneficial, but not required
