Position Description:

As the Technician Lead, you are responsible for assisting, leading and inspiring the Bus Technician Team as well as performing regular diagnostics and repairs on buses. Essential Functions

  • Oversees the service, repairs and PDI’s in our Service Department on School and Commercial Buses (Ford and Cummins engines)
  • Assists in work assignments and monitoring work flow. Assists and leads team in diagnostic procedures for repairs.
  • PDI / Pre-Delivery Inspections and preparation oversight
  • Perform DOT inspections (applicable for certified Techs)
  • Ability to repair and replace hydraulic, air, electrical, engine, suspension, exhaust, glass, and fuel systems
  • Ability to work overtime during peak season
  • Perform Quality Control Checks of all completed repairs and installations
  • Assist Bus Team members with questions, motivation, monitoring, work direction and instruction
  • Participates in SCIPI leadership training program
  • Assists with hiring and training shop personnel as needed

Required Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good mechanical aptitudes
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Valid Class D Driver’s License

Preferred Experience:

  • Five or more years of related experience
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience
  • CDL license (with passenger endorsement) or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
