Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, results driven Corporate Controller to be a key leader in our growing Finance organization. This proven Finance leader will oversee all financial activities and functions, as well as partner with the CEO, external consultants, and cross-functional leaders to drive strategic initiatives to enable growth and scalability across the organization.

This position will report to the CEO and will lead an expanding team. The ideal candidate needs to be a team player and possess the ability to manage multiple work streams in an exciting and collaborative environment.


Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained for all company entities.
  • Review of account reconciliations and workpapers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances. 
  • Collaborate with CPA firm on tax returns and possible audits or reviews.
  • Preparation and presentation of all financial reports and supplementary reports to ownership monthly. Preparation and monitoring of KPIs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on GAAP standards. Responsible for internal controls and the review of accounting transactions for conformity with these principles. 
  • Transition the current accounting for revenue to the revenue recognition standards addressed in ASC 606.
  • Responsible for the management of company’s 401(k) plan and the annual audit of the plan.
  • Provide leadership and support to two accounting and finance professionals – responsible for their day-to-day oversight, management, training, development, and feedback.
  • Responsible for cash management, bank reconciliations, and banking relationships.
  • Work with outside consultants and company management in the selection and implementation of a new accounting platform and a new project management platform.

 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting & Finance Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts and provide guidance on budget management throughout the year.
  • Partner with other stakeholders to develop and implement financial reporting and analysis, cost reduction initiatives and revenue enhancement programs.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial management, and implement changes as necessary to ensure the company remains financially competitive.

 


 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting – CPA or MBA highly desirable.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience with project management and/or professional service software a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and auditing skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts.
  • Highly effective in managing cash flow, invoicing, collection, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
  • Able to manage and lead staff to excellent performance.
  • Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and others to maximize performance and results.
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to manage and manipulate data for quick and effective financial reporting.
  • Detailed, organized, and communicative.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, knowledge of Deltek Vision (accounting software) and Kantata (project management software) a plus.
  •  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
