Summary:

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. Prepare dimensional documentation according to customer requirements for new product.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform inspection using variable and attribute gaging to determine dimensional conformance of product.

  • Evaluate products at specified stages in the production process for qualities such as cleanliness, paint quality, and appearance.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Records data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and documents results to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Provides guidance to production personnel and supervision on conformance of product to customer prints and specifications.
  • Responsible for identification, documentation, and disposition of nonconforming products.
  • Actively participates in corrective action problem solving exercises

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
