Objective of Position

The objective of this position is to oversee a wide range of Human Resource functions including recruitment, employment, benefits, training, compensation, and employee relations.   Adherence to applicable policies and procedures and all federal, state and local employment laws.  To support and work with the individual departments within the Association to address Human Resources needs. To keep the Human Resources Department  current, vital and efficient for the benefit of the Association and its employees. To supervise the HR team and provide support, training and guidance. To function as a major contributor to the Association’s Leadership Team.

Statement of Duties

  • Pre-Recruitment
    • Work with departments to develop accurate job descriptions and revise such job descriptions as necessary.
    • Establish hiring criteria that meets the needs of the individual job openings.
    • Analyze retention methods and turnover data in order to make recommendations to improve results
  • Recruitment
    • Research and decide upon the most economical and effective means of filling job openings
    • Generate a qualified pool of applicants for job openings through appropriate avenues of employment outreach
    • Manage interview process, including initial screenings of applicants and recommendations to hiring supervisors
    • Ensure onboarding of each employee is thorough
  • Compensation & Benefits
    • Identify, research and recommend any necessary amendments to salary ranges
    • Ensure that annual open enrollment for health insurance and benefits is conducted, inclusive and successful
    • Participate as a member of the Worker's Compensation internal committee
  • Employee Relations
    • Evaluate employee concerns and take appropriate actions
    • Contribute to the overall organizational growth and development of the Association
    • Develop an atmosphere of trust to ensure employees feel comfortable to bring issues to the HR department
  • Other Human Resources responsibilities as needed

Salary: $98,595-$131,460

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Management, Business or closely related field. In lieu of education, 7-10 years' management experience in Human Resources
  • 5 years work experience in Human Resources, with emphasis on employment/recruitment and benefits.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with diverse cultures
  • Computer literate and knowledge of relevant software
  • Valid CA driver's license and auto insurance
