JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for management and oversight, as well as supervision of employees, of the in-house consumer real estate loan processing department



  • Responsible for the processing of bank consumer real estate loans.
  • Responsible for ensuring all appropriate regulations, compliance, technical and processing policies and procedures are followed while processing consumer real estate loans.
  • Responsible for effective, timely communication with Financial Services Representatives and Lenders regarding all aspects of the real estate processing function.
  • Responsible for communicating with Corporate Trainer and Loan Administration Officer regarding; any updates, changes in regulations, compliance, technical, processing policies and procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable of bank Lending Policy, and all Loan Underwriting, Appraisal, Flood, Construction Procedures, and HMDA.
  • Responsible to supervise, evaluate and coach department processors.
  • Manage time sheets including vacation days and all other days out of office for the department processors.
  • Responsible for training real estate processing staff on; all appropriate regulations, compliance, technical, processing policies, and procedures regarding processing consumer real estate loans.
  • Receive loan requests from Loan Officers, FSRs and assign file for processing within department.
  • Assist department staff in resolving compliance issues related to in-house consumer real estate loans.
  • Maintain monthly tracking log and production reports on all loans being processed through the department.
  • Obtain from Lenders or Financial Services Representatives; real estate loan application, loan estimate, credit bureau report, and all other required documentation pertaining to the loan or to compliance and or regulation requirements.
  • Verify that all loan documents and supporting documents are complete.
  • Prepare Closing Disclosure.
  • Coordinate closing with Title Company when applicable.
  • Submit request for loan document production from loan administration.
  • Authorize submission of final loan documents to Financial Services Representative for loan closing.
  • Obtain signed loan documents and review prior to sending to loan administration.
  • Manage any other needs of the department.
  • Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Effectively work and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers and customers.
  • Follow direction of supervisor.



  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management.


  • High School diploma required.
  • Related experience providing a working knowledge of loan documentation and/or processing is preferred.
  • Proficient computer, 10 key, and typing skills.



  • Specific skills include ability to type business correspondence and forms.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word and other Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to learn bank real estate lending software.
  • Must have the ability to compute basic math functions as well as rates, yields and percentages.
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines, and follow through on projects and deliverables.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer and employee relations skills to relay documentation needs and requirements.
  • Must demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.

This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:

  • Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 10 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment).
