As part of the Marketing team, the Senior Events Planner will oversee both the strategy and execution of internal and external events from trade shows and conferences, to sales meetings, customer advisory boards, and community events.  Our goal is to give internal clients and customers a consistently superior experience.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Manage all logistics related to key customer events, such as Customer Advisory Boards, both national and regional.
  • Manage all logistics related to key employee-facing events, such as the Sales Meetings.
  • Work as part of a team to identify and manage community-facing events to raise brand awareness and fulfill our mission and vision.
  • Work as part of a team with Human Resources to help plan internal-facing employee events.
  • Collaborate internally with leadership in marketing, sales, content development, and warehouse/operations to drive internal support, awareness and efficiencies.
  • Provide strategic direction and execution of industry trade shows across all sales channels domestically and internationally, recommending participation, conference session submissions, evaluating new conferences, overseeing exhibit design, and measuring success.  This includes working with our author team at conferences to coordinate book signings and session presentations.
  • Work with peers in marketing to prepare pre-conference announcements and to create post-conference lead nurture campaigns.  Set KPIs for each show and analyze the results.
  • Cultivate meaningful relationships across our audiences to provide a positive image of Teacher Created Materials and our imprints.
  • Develop related budget and maintain oversight over costs to achieve specific profitability goals.
  • Drive coordination, message consistency, quality and cost effectiveness in the event planning process and with all deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, or related field
  • Knowledge of the educational market and competitors a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning and execution, as well as budgetary oversight
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in both short-term and long-term goals
  • Demonstrated research, strategic decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong people management and team leadership skills
  • Proficient in MS Office suite


Physical Requiremetts:

  • Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computer.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Travel required.


Work Conditions: General office environment with travel required.  Will consider remote as well as hybrid office locations.
