JOB SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant will report to the CFO, Convivial Properties.  The Staff Accountant will process payroll and perform general accounting functions.  The dynamic nature of our business requires a hard-working individual who will thrive and can adapt to a changing growth environment.  The ideal candidate must be adept not only in payroll administrative tasks but also understanding and applying basic accounting rules in reconciling the General Ledger Accounts.  Written and verbal communication skills are essential to success in this role, including preparing reports, record keeping and reporting.  The individual must be highly organized and detail oriented.  The applicant must be able to professionally communicate with all levels of management as well as with both internal and external customers, which includes handling confidential information in an appropriate manner.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Process scheduled bi-weekly payroll
  • Ensure integrity, accuracy and timely performance of all payroll transactions, account analysis, and payroll reconciliations for multi-site payroll
  • Maintain and update payroll information and compile reports from database
  • Import payroll journal entries to Intacct general ledger accounts
  • Respond to common inquiries from employees regarding payroll
  • Process and file sales tax returns monthly
  • Import monthly revenue journal entries to Intacct general ledger system
  • Perform monthly financial closing duties
  • Support year end close process
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations
  • Organize and update financial records
  • Assist in preparation of documentation for external auditors
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and all meetings

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School graduate or equivalent certificate; Bachelor’s degreepreferred
  • Experience in billing and collections required (healthcare billing preferred)
  • Experience in bookkeeping/accounting
  • Three to five years of experience in office management required
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
