The Role: 

The  Network Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing SCADA and plant control system for solar, storage and other hybrid plants. The technician will support continuous improvement and operational excellence for controls and controls-related systems and equipment to achieve zero-failure rate.  

 

Job Description: 

 

The Network Technician is responsible for installing various server rack mounted equipment, plugging in power and network cables, loading pre-built configurations, and performing system. These installations will happen at the office location as well as remotely at the job sites. Will be part of a team of Network and SCADA Engineers, who will provide the configurations and guidance to the technician.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Contribute to the implementation of monitoring and control systems for utility scale renewable energy projects. 

  • Physical set up of various equipment in office and at remote job sites. 

  • Load Configurations for firewalls, network switches, data loggers, and other devices. 

  • Install project specific software on various Virtual Machines. 

  • Assist with FAT pre-checks for systems. 

  • Coordinate with remote engineers for on-site commissioning and installation support. 

  • Performs field checks of instrumentation and network devices 

  • Utilize diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot networks. 

  • Any other actions required by management. 

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Associate degree or Certificate in IT related field. Networking preferred.  

  • Ability to communicate with team members and business partners. 

  • Able to lift, up to, 50 pounds unaided. 

  • Experience with various hand tools such as, screwdrivers, wire strippers, wire crimpers. 

  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. 

  • Valid Driver’s License. 

  • Travel, up to 50%
