This position is posted for the 2024-2025 school year. The start date for this position will be in August of 2024.


Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School is a state-wide, public (tuition-free) K-12 cyber charter school with a substantial number of students. Our teachers are part of an educational team whose innovative approach to education is providing a dynamic learning experience for students across the state of Pennsylvania through cyber education. All teachers report to work throughout our various locations in Pennsylvania.

The ideal candidate will possess an instructional I or II certification in Bus-Computer-Info Tech PK-12. However, candidates with strong content knowledge in computer science will be considered without a certification. If selected, financial assistance towards acquiring certification may be provided.



Essential Duties:

  • Develop engaging online learning content

  • Comfortable working computer hardware, software, and information delivery systems

  • Adept at using a variety of programming languages, including C++, Java, and Python

  • Knowledgeable about telecommunication systems, advanced algebra, probability, and statistics

  • Record original instructional videos and content for tech courses

  • Assess and provide feedback on student work

  • Interact with students and families through the course or school-related sharing of information

  • Deliver whole-group and small group instruction during live, synchronous virtual class sessions

  • Hold office hours daily

  • Contribute to IEP input for special education students and attend IEP meetings

  • Perform other miscellaneous professional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Department Chair, Supervisor of Curriculum, and Data Specialist

  • Proctor standardized testing. Limited overnight travel may be required during the testing period (1-2 times per academic year)

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • PA Instructional I or II Bus-Computer-Info Tech PK-12 (preferred)

  • An additional consideration is given for continuing education, industry-recognized credentials and/or certification, and/or endorsement

  • Current (dated within a year) Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances

  • The ability to integrate technology into the curriculum and instruction

  • Must have excellent technical, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures

  • Passion for utilizing educational technologies as a tool to increase student learning

  • Embrace opportunities to adapt and problem solve in a unique educational environment

  • Enthusiasm for taking on a leadership role within our school community

  • Able to collaborate effectively with other team members

  • Excellent team player, including reliability in working independently

  • Proficient technology skills: Microsoft Office, email, Google Drive, web-based data programs.

  • Not required, but a plus: Comfortable working with Canvas, Zoom, Achieve3000, EdInsight, PowerSchool, Naviance or other educational technology resources

  • Physical: Normal vision, speech, hearing, walking, sitting, standing, lifting, stooping, bending, grasping, keyboarding, and filing ability

  • Mental: Positive attitude, analyzing, problem-solving, decision-making, and communicating.

  • Environmental: Online, office, blended school environment
