System Training Engineer

As we expand our offerings, we're eager to welcome a talented System Training Engineer to our team. The position of System Training Engineer is responsible for the training of a team or individual(s) on Westfalia Systems. They will be responsible for both customer and internal System Support training as assigned by the manager. When not actively working on a training assignment, this position will be responsible for additional support for the Systems Support Team.

 Job Functions:

• Train customers on the operation of Westfalia Systems.
• Train System Support Technicians/Engineers and Commissioning Technicians/Engineers as assigned by the manager.
• Debug and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems both remotely and on customer sites as needed.
• Collaborate with System Support team members to resolve customer issues.
• Provide on-call support assistance as needed.
• Become familiar with the operation of Westfalia software.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Familiarity with Rockwell Automation or Siemens programming software and hardware, such as Logix500, Logix5000, Factory Talk View (HMI), and TIA Portal
• Understanding of DeviceNet and Industrial Ethernet
• Understanding of industrial electrical components
• Understanding of industrial sensors including photo eyes and proximity switches
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Excellent trouble shooting skills
• Ability to multitask and adjust priorities when needed

Travel: 

Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time, with maximum of 12 days traveling in one trip and minimum of 9 days home in-between trips. 

Education/Experience:

• BSEE or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 1-4 years relevant experience
• Previous experience with electro/mechanical repair and trouble shooting
• Previous experience with training personnel on machinery operation
