We are looking for a talented, analytical and detail-oriented individual for our SBA Credit Analyst position in Overland Park, KS.  At Core Bank, Credit Analysts are Diligent - They do good work.  No short cuts.  No excuses. 


The SBA Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data on new and existing clients, and preparing loan committee presentations while striving to help maintain the overall soundness of the SBA loan portfolio.


The SBA Credit Analyst's responsibilities include:

  • Spread and analyze financial information to determine the credit worthiness of the Bank's existing and prospective clients. Information will include, but is not limited to: CPA financial reports, tax returns, interim financial statements, personal financial statements and loan officer's comments/notes.

  • Prepare loan committee presentations to include: bank exposure, cash flow analysis, collateral analysis, background summary, SBA eligibility and compliance, individual guarantor analysis, industry analysis and overall financial summary.

  • All work completed for the bank, both in the loan area and other areas of the bank will follow established policies and operating procedures, which are consistent with the bank's overall policies and operating objectives.

  • Participate on calls to existing and prospective clients when requested.

  • The work is performed under close supervision or in accordance with detailed instructions and requires limited choices to be made in deciding what needs to be done or how to proceed. The freedom to act is substantially limited. Work duties have a moderate impact on the operations of the job incumbent’s department and related areas and/or minimal impact on the operation of the organization.

  • The job requires intermittent internal and/or external contact with others. Communications and contacts typically are with a limited variety of persons (e.g. co-workers, client office staff), requiring the exchange of routine information necessitating little explanation or interpretation.  The job requires intermediate-level listening skills and phone skills, and basic reading and writing skills are needed.


  • Four-year college degree or higher in liberal arts, business administration.

  • 1-3 years banking experience preferred. Related work experience may be considered in lieu of banking experience.

  • Previous accounting course work or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Valid Driver's License

  • General knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial statement preparation, and tax return preparation in order to interpret clients and prospects finances to develop opinions and recommendations.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required in order to provide a clear and understandable recommended action.

  • General knowledge of the banking industry, products offered, and services provided in order to sell products and services, meet client needs, and achieve financial results

  • Multi-Tasking and/ or ability to handle interruptions, meet deadlines, and handle competing priorities

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills in order
