Description

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live the lives they choose. 

As the Special Assistant to the President & CEO, you will provide high-level support the President & CEO and facilitate key initiatives managed by the Executive Office. The Special Assistant will coordinate, support, or lead key projects that drive the transformation and growth of The Arc and its related entities. The Special Assistant will serve as a project coordinator for Chesapeake Community Development and will work cooperatively with the Director of Executive Operations and the Senior Executive Assistant & Manager of Culture Initiatives to manage the Executive Office and the time of the President & CEO.

This position will be responsible for managing meeting logistics such as scheduling, agenda development, taking and preparing minutes, and follow-up. This role will also facilitate the executive coordination of government relations, work cooperatively with the Vice President of Engagement and lobbyist, and be the liaison to coordinate strategic plan objectives and goals updates.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least three or more years’ experience in project management, government relations and/or partnership development. The candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or related field and includes a competitive total rewards package with periodic telework eligibility.
