This full-time year-round, benefited position is a tremendous opportunity for anyone with a background in housekeeping and who enjoys supervising a team.  This position will help to build a positive culture amongst a small group of hardworking housekeepers and custodians located at the Appalachian Mountain Clubs’s base of operations in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING AT AMC

 

  • This is a full-time year-round benefited position.  
  • Welcome and assist PNVC visitors and guests in a positive manner; respond to any problems or special requests with a professional demeanor. 
  • Daily operations of linen. 
  • Coordinate daily with the Pinkham Manger for directives pertaining to staff within the Housekeeping, Custodial and Grounds Keeping departments. 
  • Provide active supervision and guidance for front-line employees during shifts and regularly scheduled meetings to ensure high standards of service and productivity; informs and inspires these employees through written and verbal communication. 
  • Actively promote and provide up to date information on the services and programs of the AMC and encourage membership to support the club’s public service efforts. 
  • Responsible for the execution of all Banquet Event Order (BEO) responsibilities for the Housekeeping/Custodial departments. 
  • Responsible for overall cleanliness of the Joe Dodge Lodge, the Trading Post Visitor Center, Woodchuck Educational Building, Programs Building, Clivus Building, Admin and Hutton buildings. 
  • Supervise daily tasks with the Housekeeping, Custodian and Grounds staff as assigned by the Pinkham Manager. 
  • Responsible for all floor and rug maintenance in all the buildings at Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, scheduling all rug/floor cleaning appointments when needed. 
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with Pinkham Manager, providing input and suggestions for improvements and change. 
  • Manage seasonal housing areas including cleaning and maintenance, communication of policies as well as work with Pinkham Manager on the assigning of rooms. 
  • Plan and attend training and supervisory meetings at PNVC and other AMC facilities as required. 
  • Ordering all housekeeping and laundry supplies, maintaining all equipment, and keeping a complete inventory of all items needed within all the assigned areas. 
  • Evaluate on a periodic basis area that may need to be revamped such as our guest rooms or common areas and review such issues with the Pinkham Manager. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

WHAT AMC IS LOOKING FOR

 

  • This position requires strong leadership coupled with exceptional customer service skills and the ability to be a team player within a detail-oriented, fast-paced environment.  
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in housekeeping services is required.  
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and evenings.  
  • Familiarity with the White Mountain National Forest and a proactive attitude regarding AMC programs and mission is strongly preferred. 
  • Strong computer literacy, with emphasis on Microsoft 365

  • Physical abilities needed: Ability to operate standard office computers and machines, plus maintenance equipment. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds at the Lodge included up and down staircases.

Salary range: $14.00 - $17.90 / hour
