Position Overview:

Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested.  Position will begin in August 2020.

Candidates will be expected  to teach courses within the field an/or sub fields of Finance using a transformative approach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and participate in department and school-related service activities.  Candidates are expected to have balanced commitment towards service and teaching.

 

College/Department Overview:

The College of Business has 76 full-time faculty and 40 part-time faculty in 6 academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems & Operations Management, Management, and Marketing. The College currently offers 13 undergraduate majors serving more than 2,500 students, and 2 graduate programs serving more than 100 students combined. Qualifications

 

Qualifications / Experience Required:

Teaching and departmental/school service is expected. An earned masters degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). 

Previous teaching experience in higher education environment at level of teaching assistant or higher is required.  Candidate must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness/excellence.

Qualification / Experience Preferred:

Applicants with an MBA or MS in Finance from an AACSB school will have priority consideration.  Previous teaching and/or work experience in a business school in commercial or investment banking is preferred.

 

Physical Demands:

Repetitive movement of hands and fingers - typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
