We sell a variety of product categories as a 1st Party Seller, including toys, games, pet, sports & outdoor, home and patio, lawn & garden. Flat River Group has experienced incredible growth, and we now have multiple US-based distribution facilities.

We’re recruiting a Team Lead to help direct and lead tasks and processes related to our distribution center fulfillment. This position is responsible for assisting departmental supervisors and leading others within our distribution center.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask, communicate well with internal teams, lead employees, and be willing to learn about Flat River Group processes and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick, pack, and ship customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring products are properly labeled and securely packaged for safe delivery.

  • Order Fulfillment Management: Oversee the order picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

  • Packaging and Labeling: Ensure all packages are correctly labeled with shipping details, adhere to the company’s packaging standards, and comply with shipping carrier requirements.

  • Kitting: Consolidating products and orders for mass kitting operations.

  • Receiving and Unloading: Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and organize items for efficient storage while working in conjunction with the Receiving supervisor and team leads.

  • Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, making efficient use of space and following safety guidelines.

  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with fellow team members, support other departments as needed, and participate in cross-functional projects to optimize warehouse operations.

  • Equipment Maintenance and Usage: Regularly inspect and report any issues with warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners, and ensure they are well-maintained and safe to operate.

  • Safety & Quality Compliance: Adhere to all safety and quality protocols, guidelines, and company policies to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

  • Training: Support training of associates in the department as needed.

  • Communication: Effectively communicate with internal teams and provide leadership for those working in the department. Promptly escalate issues and/or concerns to the department supervisor or operations manager.

  • Process Knowledge: Must be well-versed with job duties and work instructions associated with tasks within the department and comfortable performing them.

  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Understand the basic functions of all other departments, including the ability to create individual and pallet labels, proficiently pack products using proper procedures in the pack station program, and the ability to prepare and print orders.

  • One Team: Sometimes, other tasks come up and priorities shift quickly, so it’s crucial that we pull together as a team to perform other related duties as required, even outside of your primary department.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance repeatedly. 

  • Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds without assistance occasionally.

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for 8-10 hours for 5-6 days/week.*

  • Ability to regularly bend, twist, stoop, and reach.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Reliable attendance and adherence to company attendance policies.

  • Ability to work well within a team and drive the completion of tasks.

  • Good communication skills, both within the department and interdepartmentally.

  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically.

  • General computer operating knowledge, with the expectation that you must become proficient with the FRG Portal and WMS system, and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to assign tasks to others and follow up with those tasks.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.

  • Must be able to achieve successful forklift training and certification after hire into the position.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in fast-paced, high-volume organization in a team lead or equivalent role preferred.

  • Previous forklift operator experience preferred.
