Description

The Facilities department at Grace Chapel exists to support the multi-site ministry of Grace Chapel its members, guests, buildings, and properties. Our goal is to provide a clean, safe, distraction free, and caring environment. This team member needs to be knowledgeable about the buildings, its systems, and idiosyncrasies.

This position has the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot and perform all necessary repairs to the apartment community, including plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and electrical. Installation of new appliances as needed.
  • Ensure service orders are completed on a timely basis.
  • Assist in maintaining the exterior of the property to provide clean and acceptable curb appeal at all times.
  • Comply with all OSHA regulations and health, safety and environmental laws.
  • Performs general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
  • Perform drywall patch work, painting, replacement of cover plates, and cleaning common areas.
  • Monitors and organizes inventory.
  • Picks up and delivers supplies using company or personal vehicle
  • Removes snow from property during any and at all hours.
  • Maintains grounds by mowing lawns, pruning trees and shrubs, and removing weeds and debris.
  • Performs assigned preventive maintenance duties and tasks.
  • Assists in maintaining equipment to function properly and comply with all safety standards.
  • Performs emergency on-call service for after hours maintenance-related issues as required.
  • Assists at other properties in the region as needed.
  • Maintaining facility and equipment including carpets, emergency systems, lighting and HVAC systems
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required education and training requirements

In order to be effective in this role, a successful candidate will possess many of the following core gifts or passions:

  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong knowledge in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems. HVAC certification is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized and meet deadlines.
  • Able to be on-call for responding to after-hours emergencies.
  • A can do responsive attitude, willingness and ability to do what is asked.
  • A self-starter: Ability to work alone as well as part of a team.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and teachable approach to the job.
  • Productive working relationship with Facilities staff.
  • Working knowledge of computers for OUTLOOK, WORD and EXCEL.
  • Reasonably physically fit so as to be able to safely climb step ladders and lift materials up to 75lbs.

The work schedule for this position is Sunday 6am to 2pm and various times throughout the week, with occasional responsibilities on Fridays and Saturdays for special events.

Work involves multiple campuses, may be assigned projects outside of the Lexington campus.
