Description

Summary:  Assist in the implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction treatment plans of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Assist with day-to-day activities, monitoring behavior, recording and collecting data on progress,  and communicates and coordinates with supervisor on progress, concerns, or changes in the implementation of the treatment plan.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Work 1:1 with assigned individual implementing behavior reduction and skill acquisition goals within the assigned environment
  • Receive direct supervision and implement feedback as outlined by the supervising BCBA
  • Collect ongoing treatment data on behavior and skill specific goals as outlined by the  supervising BCBA
  • Completion of daily treatment notes for each ABA session conducted per individual
  • Preparation for direct therapy sessions and collection of materials to ensure quality of care for the individual
  • Advises, consults, and/or trains the family and other agency personnel as assigned by the supervising BCBA
  • Participates in in-service programs and presents in-service programs as assigned
  • Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures
  • Participates with all other team members in development of treatment plan
  • Attends all additional scheduled staff meetings and conferences as assigned by the Director of ABA
  • Immediately reports to BCBA/ Therapy Supervisor any patient incidents/variances or complaints.
  • Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) course and certification within the first 90 days of employment if not already an RBT.
  • Maintain RBT status ongoing by completing RBT renewal competency and a BACB application each year with a supervising BCBA

While performing the duties of this job, employees will comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to Easterseals Arkansas.

 

Employee has access to all client protected health information within his/her program.  Employee will not attempt to access any other protected health information unless otherwise approved by Supervisor or Privacy Officer.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                             

No direct reports.  No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:                                            

High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one-year experience of working with children who have disabilities required.  Certification as Registered Behavior Technician preferred.

 

Competencies:

  • Excellent instructional, oral, and written communication, organizational and interpersonal relations skills.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals regarding age, education, and functionality.
  • Ability to present information and train staff who have varying levels of knowledge/experience.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize and plan work activities.

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Maintain Registered Behavior Technician Certification
